This option will reliably send live video to Teleport, enabling the full feature set, live image, time-lapse and live video streaming. It does not require any additional software or hardware making deployment simple and reliable.
Many Dahua cameras come with built in RTMP streaming. Setup is as simple as pasting in the provided rtmp stream url into the cameras firmware Network Settings page.
While the exact interface may vary depending on the camera firmware version, here are the steps to setup RTMP on the latest firmware of newer Dahua cameras.
Make sure your Teleport feed is set to receive content via RTMP, this will also provide you with the RTMP Stream Url.
Browse to the Platform Access configuration page on the camera firmware. This is done by logging into the camera firmware web page once you know it's IP address. For example : http://192.168.0.93 To discover the cameras IP address you can look at devices connected to your router or use Dahua Config Tool
Then go to Network Settings -> Platform Access page and select 'RTMP' tab. This is done on the cameras firmware page.
Select 'Address Type' as 'Custom' and in the 'Custom Address' field enter the RTMP publish url provided in your feeds 'Live image' dashboard. i.e. rtmp://streams.teleport.io:1935/live/fe-fevad4gqyep6/ocvCmuz1mgRE
Leave IP address, Port as they are and make sure to checkoff 'Enable' as in the screenshot below.
